Fees and FAQs
-
A 50-minute session is $225 (during business hours) or $245 (after 5pm on weekdays or all day weekends). A 90-minute EMDR processing session is charged pro-rata ($337.50 during standard hours or $367.50 during weekends).
If you are using a Mental Health Care Plan, your out of pocket costs would range from $79.75 to $99.75 for a standard 50-minute session after the Medicare rebate is applied.
Sessions funded by NDIS (either self-managed or plan managed) are $232.99 per 50-minutes.
Phone calls or letters that require more than 15 minutes are charged accordingly in 15 minute blocks.
-
Currently, I accept Medicare’s Mental Health Care Plans, NDIS (self-managed or plan managed), and private pay.
I do not see clients funded under FAS (formerly VOCAT), TAC or WorkCover.
-
I understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. At the same time, late cancellations, reschedules, or no shows mean another client misses out, so I do have a strict policy:
48+ hours’ notice: no charge
24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of the full session fee
Less than 24 hours’ notice or no-show: 100% of the full session fee
Medicare and private health rebates can’t be claimed for unattended sessions.
To cancel or reschedule, please contact me via email or text. Messages are time-stamped, so timely contact is always noted.
-
No referral is needed to book a session. However, a GP referral is required to access Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan. If eligible, you can receive up to 10 partially rebated sessions per calendar year. The full fee is charged upfront, and the rebate (currently $145.25 per session) is processed after each session.
-
Possibly. Rebates depend on your insurer and level of cover, so it’s best to check directly with them. I’ll provide a receipt after each session so you can claim independently. Medicare and private health rebates can’t be used for the same session.
-
The first session is a chance for me to understand what’s brought you to therapy, your background, and what you’re hoping to get out of the sessions. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.
-
It varies. Your history, supports, and the nature of what you’re working through all play a role. Some clients find 6-10 sessions helpful for mild to moderate concerns, while others engage in longer-term work. We’ll regularly review how things are going, and you’re welcome to continue beyond the 10 sessions covered by a Mental Health Care Plan if that feels right.
-
Currently, I only offer psychological therapy only; as such, I do not offer formal (diagnostic) assessments. However, I often work with clients who are exploring their neurotype. I can administer screening tools and, if you choose to pursue a formal assessment, support you with referrals to appropriate services.
