A Little About Me

I provide compassionate and non-judgemental psychological support in the inner Western suburbs of Melbourne

Hi, I’m Mary.

I’m a second-generation Vietnamese Clinical / Educational and Developmental Psychologist with a decade of experience across community mental health, education, private practice, and corporate settings. My Asian heritage and formal training together shape a culturally grounded approach to distress, resilience, and recovery.

While I work with people from all walks of life, I have a particular passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those who are self-identified or are still making sense of where they land.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and curious. This is a non-pathologising space: you don’t need to minimise what you’re carrying or explain yourself perfectly to be understood. Difficult thoughts and emotions make sense in context - and that’s where we start.

I work integratively, drawing on ACT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and CBT, with a strong emphasis on helping clients clarify their values and build lives shaped by what matters to them, rather than fear or expectation.

Outside of work, I try to practise what I believe in: that rest, play, and connection aren’t luxuries. You’ll usually find me building Lego, at a theatre show with friends, or deep in a video game with my partner.

What Drives My Work

I care deeply about creating spaces where people don’t have to translate or minimise themselves to be understood.

So much of what brings people to therapy isn’t about being broken or difficult. It’s about the long-term impact of years spent not quite fitting in, feeling othered, and/or having to adapt within relationships that weren’t attuned to their needs.

My work is grounded in the belief that your experiences make sense when understood in context. From my perspective, therapy is about building that understanding, and from it developing a different way of relating to yourself and the people around you.
